04 June 2008

Family and Friends of Comanche,

First, I want to personally thank all of you for your love and support for your Marine or Sailor in Comanche Company. I have done this in the past and will continue to do so until I relinquish command of this great company. That day has finally come.

On 5 June 2008, I will relinquish my command to 1st Lieutenant Justin Sharpe. The turning of this page closes a chapter in my career that encompasses the most rewarding and challenging assignment in the Marine Corps that I have served in to date. For almost three years I have had the privilege of serving as “Comanche 6”. Whether it has been being deployed to the Asian Pacific Rim in Okinawa, Japan or to Southwest Asia in Iraq, the men of Company C and their families have served this great nation with distinction and honor. I remain in awe of the patriotism and dedication to Corps & Country that has been so selflessly displayed by all of you. You have my own personal gratitude for your sacrifices.

However, it is time for Debbie and me to say our “good-byes.” We want to thank all of the families and friends of Comanche who have been so supportive throughout the past several years. It has not always been easy or smooth sailing, but we got through two deployments and the countless hours of training that required us to be away from home. Debbie and I will not be going far, as I will reporting to TTECG who are just up the hill from the Wolfpack. In the future, if you would like to contact me or Debbie, I am sure that someone at the Wolfpack can locate us. Most of you have Debbie’s email address, anyway.

Good luck to all of you; God bless. I wish you all fair winds and following seas.

Respectfully,

Mark C. Brown Capt USMC
